Screenings for ASD

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) suggests that all children experience screenings for ASD at ages 18 to 24.

Screening is used to identify ASD in children and diagnose the level of children. The children can get an advantage of earlier diagnosis and help.

The Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M-CHAT) is a common screening tool that is being used by special educators. Special educators ask the Parents to fill out the 23-question survey. Special educators then can use the answers to support and determine children who may have or probability of having ASD.

It’s necessary to know that screening is not the diagnosis. Children who become positive for ASD do not always have it. It’s also important to mention that, screenings do not always determine every child who has autism.

There is no treatment or remedy for ASD. But some autistic people,can get support and therapies and it can be helpful for them for better living.

  • physical therapy
  • Speech Therapy
  • Medication
  • Massage therapy
  • Weighted clothing and Blankets

However, outcomes will different in every case. Some people with ASD may get good benefit to different supportive therapies, while others may not get any benefit.

Analysis on other remedies is different, and some remedies can be dangerous. These alternative remedies include things like:

  • Chelatin Therapy
  • Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy
  • Melatonin
